MEET OUR TEAM

If you are looking for an amazing work out lead by an energetic bunch search no further. Urban Flex Fitness is staffed by the leaders of Sacramento's fitness industry. Our instructors range in experience from triathletes, collegiate athletes, biggest losers and ultimate weekend warriors. Collectively this group creates an engaging atmosphere and the foundation of a community.

Bean

BEAN HARRAH

Bean is the Owner of Urban Flex Fitness. Bean's existence has been permeated by exercise and fitness since the age of 5, due to active participation in both team and individual sports. Bean fully embraced her relationship with athletics and sought to obtain an education in the realm after high school. She received her BS in exercise science from Sonoma State University while playing soccer at the collegiate level. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies Bean decided to further her repertoire and enrolled at Sacramento State University to pursue a MS in Strength and Conditioning.

Bean is a certified personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Bean is also credentialed as a TRX suspension training group exercise instructor. In Beans spare time she enjoys training for anything from a 5k to a marathon. She has taken 3 teams to complete the Tough Mudder. She is also a wife and a mother to two teenage children.

Sara

SARA HARRAH

Sara is Co owner of Urban Flex Fitness and has been teaching indoor cycling for 6 years. Certified through Madd Dog Spinning. She is also TRX credentialed and has begun adding that to her group fitness classes. She truly enjoys teaching, as well as taking classes. Sara has been involved in the fitness world for 12 years by making it a huge part of her everyday life. She enjoys running, indoor and outdoor cycling, swimming, doing TRX and Bootcamps. She absolutely loves motivating and inspiring people in a positive way, yet making the class challenging enough for people to grow with each fitness goal they set for themselves. She is also a wife, a mother of two teens and a dental hygienist. She is currently becoming involved in the world of Triathlons and hopes to compete in her first Ironman next year. She guides clients on how to eat clean and incorporate healthy eating habits into their every day life. She knows that health and fitness is not just exercise it encompasses body mind and spirit. "We must treat our body as a Temple and fuel it for optimal performance."

Bean

DIANE WESTFALL

Diane has been with UFF since the day it opened. This place has changed her life. She loves the people and the positive, encouraging community we build here. She has been teaching TRX since February 2012 as well as teaching bootcamps on occasion. In her spare time, she is a part time massage therapist and loves to read books, hang with her friends, and do random fun stuff.

Rachel

RACHEL LLOYD

Rachel has played sports pretty much all of her life. In high school she played soccer, basketball, softball and ran track. In college she mostly did IM soccer, football, and basketball. In 2011, she came across the Sacramento Sirens and decided to try out for the team, because she had always wanted to play football but was never given the opportunity. She met Bean through some of my teammates and started coming to bootcamps at UFF. She did her first TRX class soon after that, and almost died! She loved it! Quickly she became addicted and was regularly attending classes during her off season. When she heard some UFFers were going to go get certified to teach their own classes, of course she jumped on the opportunity! At the beginning of the 2012 football season, her teammates were pretty shocked how in shape she was, since she hadn't ran more than around the block since the end of last season! TRX does miracles!!!

Jenn

JENN GOODMAN

Jenn has been a lifelong lover of spin and teaching it is her passion! She turned to spin after having both her children for the fun and effective workouts. She has completed several half marathons and plans to run another soon. When she is not spinning you'll find her enjoying TRX, bootcamp and running.

Jennifer La Liberte

Jennifer La Liberte

Jenn is one of our play center employees who loves being with the children. She feels fortunate that she can be in the play center during the week, so that UFF members with children can fit a workout into their busy schedules. Jenn fell in love with UFF two years ago when she took her first TRX class with Bean. She has been addicted ever since. Jenn has completed 3 marathons and many 1/2 marathons. When she is not at UFF or running she is homeschooling her son Sebastian.

Meghan

MEGHAN PHILLIPS

Meghan has been instructing cycling since 2003 when she used indoor cycling as her off season triathlon training. Road cycling and triathlons have always been her passion, but now as a busy wife and mom of two and owner of a marketing agency she has had to hang up my Trek. Her group fitness certifications include Schwinn Cycling, Madd Dogg Spinning, Les Mills Body Pump, and TurboKick. She understands the importance of providing support and compassion along with training expertise throughout each client's journey. She believes it is important to build a rapport with each person in her class and loves watching each individual bring fitness into their lives in their own unique way. Her claim to fame: She went to high school with Bean!

Anthea London

ANTHEA LONDON

Anthea has been in the Sports and Fitness industry for 25 years. She graduated with a degree in Exercise Physiology from UC Davis in 1987. Beginning with a job in Sports Medicine working with college athletes as a Certified Athletic trainer. While raising 3 kids, she began doing personal training. As a Certified Personal Trainer for 20 years, she has expanded her knowledge by becoming certified in Crossfit, TRX and group TRX classes. Her area of expertise is taking on "challenging clients", people in special populations including people with injuries, seniors and generally motivating people. With two of her children being Diabetic, she specializes and "lives" Diabetes. Her personal accomplishments are running half marathons, doing triathlons and hiking the Grand Canyon in one day! Anthea truly enjoys what she does and feels lucky to be able to do what she does.

I have over 15 years in the fitness industry and have enjoyed every minute of it. As a mother of 4, I have to stay in shape to keep up with my beautiful kids. I enjoy working hard and motivating others to keep their fitness goals. Feeling good about yourself and how you look can make all the difference in the world.

Garret Sarantakos

GARRET SARANTAKOS

Garrett is one of UFF's play center employees. He's has been taking care of kids since the age of twelve. From babysitting to helping his mom with her home daycare. He is high school student athlete who plays football. Garrett aspires to work in the fitness world and will work toward obtaining a degree after graduation. Garrett loves working at UFF he says it's the perfect work environment.

Kevin Pham

Kevin Pham

Hello! My name is Kevin Pham and I am the new TRX Instructor for Urban Flex. I have a broad range of experience in exercise which includes personal training at California Family Fitness, leading group fitness exercise at Eskaton Village Carmichael, interning at Arden Hills Spa and Resort with their Strength and Conditioning Department, and interning with Apple Computer's Health and Wellness program in Elk Grove. I also obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science in the spring of 2011 and recently received my Master's of Science in Exercise Science in the fall of 2013 from California State University, Sacramento. I am certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Specialist (HFS).

In my free time I like to read, cook, spend time with family, play basketball, and exercise. I also am learning how to play the piano but it is much harder than it looks.

Ever since I was little, I have had a deep passion for exercise and wellness. I believe that healthy living incorporates not only diet and exercise but also a positive mindset in which you believe you can obtain your goals. As an exercise instructor for Urban Flex, I am confident that my positive personality and enthusiasm will help motivate you to reach your fitness goals in no time.

Ben has been involved in martial arts for more than 20 years. He has experience in teaching boxing, kickboxing, MMA, and unarmed combative. He enjoys teaching boxing class at Urban Flex Fitness and loves the challenges of the TRX workout.
